Your garden is prized throughout the neighbourhood, with award-winning blooms that are so fragrant your neighbours can’t help but stop by to enjoy them. Maintaining a lovely garden is challenging – it takes constant diligence in order to find a healthy balance with water, light, temperatures, etc, but you take the time needed to see it through.

Your garden is much like your body and requires even greater diligence. You try to live right, eat right, exercise, but you may sometimes wonder if it will ever be enough to make you feel like you’re firing right. But like with your garden, sometimes it’s the little simple attentions that make the most difference. Consider all of the great advances in medicines, such as penicillin and various vaccinations that have helped save lives the world over. But how often do we consider the preventative benefits of a simple multivitamin? We know it’s good for us; reports show that multivitamins help boost immune systems, aid in the absorbsion of nutrients found in food, help regulate mood swings and assist the body to heal itself. Such a simple thing can offer so many rewards.

In addition to multis there are numerous other vitamins and minerals available that play very specific roles but most will agree that a healthy foundation for health begins with a proper diet and exercise, adequate water and sleep – and a daily multivitamin.

So if you can, take the time to honour your body so that you can feel spry, happy and healthy – take your multi.

Going abroad, for holiday or for work, for long or short periods of time, is taxing on your body. You’ll immediately be exposed to a number of viruses and bacteria that your body isn’t used to handling, and many people experience colds or flus shortly after moving to a new country, exactly because of this – and this is especially common when traveling during the winter, of course. When you go abroad it’s vital that you either have a good insurance policy that covers health expenses abroad or that you get good travel insurance. This will help insure that you keep your finances safe as well. Going to a foreign hospital, especially in a country with strict social security policies, can mean that you’ll rapidly find yourself with a large bill to pay. And if you happen to be in an accident you’ll definitely want the best insurance possible, perhaps even one that’ll cover the expense of returning you to your country so you can receive medical attention there.
